Add Order Buttons to Existing Pages

(OrderAnywhere)

Do you already have a Web site that you need to e-commerce enable? No problem! With ShopSite you can easily add order buttons and a shopping cart to your existing product pages. Whether your site was created using Microsoft FrontPage, Macromedia Dreamweaver or HomeSite, Adobe GoLive, or some other tool you can easily add a ShopSite shopping cart.

Watch the Order Anywhere Video Tutorial to see how easily you can add order buttons to your Web site.

In two simple steps you can begin taking orders right off your existing pages:

  1. Add your product to the ShopSite product database.
  2. Use the OrderAnywhere feature to place [Add to Cart] and [View Cart] buttons in your Web pages.

The ShopSite software doesn't even have to be hosted on the same server as your web site. You can host the shopping cart at one of our partners or you can get the software for your server. And of course, you can add images and colors to the shopping cart so that it matches your current site.

Creating an Order Button

After creating your product in ShopSite, the OrderAnywhere feature will create the order button as well as the HTML code. For example, here's a product from Al's Tools and we have used OrderAnwhere to place the order button below:

Belt Sander
$266
5931
Milwaukee

In some editors, you can cut and paste or drag and drop the order button right off the ShopSite display and into the window you're using to create your Web site. For other editors, ShopSite can show you the HTML code for the buttons and you can copy and paste it into your editor window, such as the code displayed between the lines below:

-----
<a href="http://eval.shopsite.com/cgi-bin/shopper/sc/order.cgi?storeid=*14a411dac56fb01605b2274b&dbname=products&itemnum=116&function=add"><img src="http://eval.shopsite.com/shopper/als/media/order.gif" border="0"></a>
-----

Feel free to actually try either method above with your web site and editing tool.

Quantity and Other Options

Do you also want to have the quantity and any pull-down options displayed on your product pages (see below) instead of just in the shopping cart?

Hammer

Handle Color

No problem. You don't need to know HTML code. ShopSite will generate the code and you can just paste it into your web page. Click here to see an example of the code.

Automate the Generation of Order Buttons

Do you want to skip OrderAnywhere for the generation of buttons? A web designer or programmer can easily create ShopSite Pro order and checkout buttons that includes the product SKU in the button information. Once a button is generated, the only difference between buttons for different product is the inclusion of the SKU value. You would still create your products in ShopSite (you can even upload them from a file) but the button generation could be done outside of ShopSite.

Try It Out

See how easy it is to e-commerce enable your web site. Get a ShopSite demo store and either use the existing products or add your own. Then go to the Merchandising section and click on the OrderAnywhere button to generate your buttons. Place the buttons or HTML code on your existing site. It's that simple!

You can read the full instructions for using OrderAnywhere in the ShopSite online help. You can also find information in the help about changing the order buttons to match your store and other advanced features.
